DESIGNER'S VOICE

The development theme of the RUSH series is "How can we reduce stress for runners?"

My method is to improve fit, stability, and usability mainly by optimizing weight balance and pocket layout, and I used exactly the same method when designing the RUSH-HIP.

First, what should you store on your body? Starting from this consideration, we consider the layout based on the shape and characteristics of the tools, frequency of use, etc. We then create and test several prototypes while considering the weight balance of each piece of luggage. When it comes to car development, it's like, "Where should we put people, cargo, and engines?"　

Fortunately, this HIP is a very small product, so I was able to create a prototype in the morning, test it during my lunch break, improve it in the afternoon, and have fun repeating the process. At first, the pockets were zippered, but after repeated tests, we realized that they didn't need a zipper, and the waist belt, which used to have a Velcro closure, became interestingly simple. It became. As a designer, these moments of ``brushing up functionality'' are the most fun.
