Action Panda was founded in 2015 with a simple goal: to create an outdoor and sportswear brand that everyday Hongkongers can afford and truly use. In the early days, we started with a tiny shop tucked inside an industrial building in Kwun Tong. No big investors, no flashy renovations—just a group of passionate people who loved sports. We did everything ourselves: sourcing, packing, stocking, delivery. It was all hands-on.

In a city like Hong Kong where life moves fast and stress runs deep, we believe sports isn't just about staying fit. It's about reclaiming time and space for yourself. That’s why Action Panda exists—to support anyone who turns to movement to cope with pressure. Whether you're a night runner, a weekend hiker, or training for your first trail race, we want to be your go-to, reliable partner.

From day one, we focused on making gear that’s practical and affordable. We understand that beginners might hesitate to invest heavily in expensive gear. But affordable doesn’t mean cheap. Our core product values are simple: useful, durable, and good-looking. Whether it’s shoes, packs, headlamps, or tech tees—we test everything ourselves before bringing it in. If we wouldn’t use it, we won’t sell it.

In the early years, we were out at almost every race, market, and mountain event on weekends, meeting customers face-to-face, introducing gear firsthand. Through that experience, we learned what it means to build a brand from scratch—and more importantly, to build a community. Some customers started with just a pair of socks. The next time, they bought a tee. And before long, we’d see them running races with full Panda gear. That’s what we care about—long-term relationships built on trust, not quick wins.

Beyond gear, we’ve invested in community. We organized our own trail races like the “Sam Ball Yeah” series, not just for competition, but as a way to bring people together and celebrate the outdoors. We host gear trial days, test runs, and open talks, making movement more accessible and knowledge more shareable. We’re not afraid to teach people about gear—because knowledge shouldn't be a secret. It’s culture.

And this culture shouldn’t be limited to Hong Kong. We believe local brands can go global. That’s why our goal is to expand beyond borders. We’re preparing to launch international e-commerce, cross-border logistics, and participate in overseas outdoor expos. We're also exploring collaborations with foreign running clubs and outdoor brands to foster greater regional connections in the trail and outdoor world.

Back home, we’re working hard on growing our own product line—gear made specifically for Hong Kong’s terrain and climate. Let’s face it: Hong Kong is hot, humid, and full of steep, technical trails. Most international gear isn’t designed for that. But as a local brand, we know what’s needed here. We’re developing locally designed clothing, smart packing accessories, and all-weather gear that actually makes sense for Hong Kong.

We also believe in education. We’re creating more content and resources: guides for choosing the right gear, mountain safety tips, and sustainable gear practices. Because we believe gear isn’t just stuff—it reflects values. Use it longer, use it smarter, don’t waste, don’t chase trends.

Today, Action Panda isn’t just a small shop anymore. We’ve become a community, a mindset, a way of doing things. We’re not here to grow fast or play the hype game. We’re here to be real—with every product, every event, every interaction. We believe in making movement part of everyday life, and making that life a bit more grounded, more free.

We may never be the biggest brand. But we strive to be the most genuine. Not just with good materials, but with honest service, respect for nature, and high standards for ourselves.
